Contributions to Western Australia 2025 publication
The Rio Tinto Contribution to Western Australia report is a publication that showcases Rio Tinto’s social, economic and community impact across the state. Delivered in the first quarter of the year, the publication shines a light on the human stories behind the mining headlines.
This edition of the publication was especially meaningful for our team, as it was our first opportunity to take an active role in the writing and editing of the stories, as well as the design.

Putting people at the centre
With so many stakeholders and individuals involved in the publication, we began our groundwork as early as possible. Working closely with Rio Tinto’s Communications team, we identified the most engaging topics and interviewed Rio Tinto team members to ensure people were at the heart of every story.
Each story went through a lengthy approvals phase, requiring ongoing coordination, strong communication and strict version control to ensure we kept to our timelines without sacrificing quality.
Alongside the editorial process, we also delivered a clean and organic design that effortlessly balanced storytelling with data, while upholding Rio Tinto’s brand guidelines.
A lasting achievement
The final publication was a testament to the power of teamwork. Not just through the initiatives that deliver meaningful change across WA, but in the collective effort to collect, write, illustrate and share these stories.
Available as both a printed brochure and a digital flipbook, the publication was very well received by stakeholders, team members and the wider WA communities alike. For our team, it was a privilege to be part of such an impactful project.
